I know that several people out there have seen a change in their business, as a result of the “downturn” in the economy and all of the changes to the mortgage and financial industries. So, are you stuck with your feet in quicksand, or are you ready to get creative?
There are still people looking for you, your business, your products and your services. You just need to find a way to reach them. FaceBook has a half BILLION users, that’s a great place to start, and it’s FREE. What about LinkedIn, Twitter, or the Google business listings – all FREE? Do you show up in your city when someone Googles you? You should – and that’s free, too.
If you do have a budget, it may be wise to get found on the web – paying for SEO, advertising, or Google Adwords. Putting up a website or blog is also effective, if you know how to or pay to get traffic there.
Any way you slice it, the economy is not down. It’s only down if you choose to participate, and keep that mindset. My business has grown more than 200% in the past 12 months. I have never participated in this “bad economy”…I just refuse to. If you believe the economy is hurting your business, then it is. If you believe it’s harder than ever to get new business, then it is. If you believe you won’t rebound from the economic downturn, then you won’t.
Get your belief going back in a positive way - Go back to the root of who you are, your core beliefs, desires and passions…and build from there. Believe that this economy and the booming wellness and technology eras can bring you unlimited opportunities. Believe that you have a gift or talent to offer the world. Believe that the products or services you are marketing will change people’s lives. Don’t do it for the money – doing that will lead you astray more times than you will want and that’s exhausting. Do it for success, acheiving goals, changing your life or the lives of others, and make a difference in this world. Do what you love and enjoy, and the money will follow. There is nothing more powerful than belief, and that too, is FREE.
Remember: If you don’t follow your dreams, you will spend the rest of your life working for someone who did.
Make it wonderful and productive week!
